Compare·Pirsch Analytics
Every visitor is new the next day.
Pirsch is cookie-free analytics made and hosted in Germany, and it can count visits from your server with no script in the page. By design it recognises a visitor for one day at most, so it cannot show you who came back a week later.
What Pirsch Analytics is
Cookie-free web analytics, made and hosted in Germany, built on an open-source core.
- Licence
- Proprietary, with an open-source core (AGPL-3.0)
- Hosting
- Their cloud in Germany, or self-host on Enterprise
- Best at
- Counting traffic from your own server, out of reach of ad blockers, with the data kept in Germany.
Where Pirsch Analytics wins.
If one of these is a must-have for you, go with them.
Tracking from your server
Pirsch can take page views from your backend, with no JavaScript in the page at all. An ad blocker never sees that request. Our page views come from a script in the page.
Self-hosting is possible
With an Enterprise licence you can run Pirsch on your own servers, and its core library is open source. We are hosted only and closed source.
Your brand on the dashboard
On the Plus plan the dashboard can carry your own logo and domain. If you report to clients under your own name, that is a real reason to pick them.
Data kept in Germany
Pirsch is made in the EU and runs on German-owned servers at Hetzner. If your buyers ask for German hosting by name, Pirsch can say yes.
Where Spreelytics wins.
Every line here is a page in the product today.
It knows who came back
Pirsch puts the date into its visitor id, so the same person counts as new the next day. By default we set one first-party cookie, so a returning visitor keeps one identity. That is what retention and person timelines need.
Funnels on every plan
Both tools allow funnels of up to eight steps. Ours are on the Free plan, and they follow the person across a return visit. Funnels are a Plus feature at Pirsch, and its visitor id resets every day.
Revenue from your payment provider
At Pirsch, revenue is a number you attach to an event, and the Plus plan adds it up. We take payments straight from Stripe, Paddle, Polar or Lemon Squeezy. Last-touch gives each sale to the last visit before it. Linear splits it evenly across all the visits in a window you set.
AI crawlers counted, not dropped
Pirsch filters bot traffic out, including requests made directly by AI. We count AI crawlers with a middleware, a small piece of code that runs on your server. An assistant fetching a page for someone is kept apart from a crawler collecting pages for training.
Side by side.
We leave prices out because Pirsch Analytics can change theirs at any time. Ours are on the pricing page.

Moving over.
Every one of these starts by leaving Pirsch Analytics running.
01
Leave Pirsch running
Keep it as your record while our snippet collects for two weeks. If you send page views to Pirsch from your server, leave that in place too.
02
Rebuild goals and funnels
A Pirsch conversion goal is a page pattern or an event. Here a goal is a page or an event you name, and a funnel is goals in order.
03
Connect payments instead of sending amounts
If a Pirsch custom metric adds up your sales, connect your payment provider here instead. Pass the visitor id at checkout so each sale can be traced to its visit.
04
Add the crawler middleware
Install our small middleware on your server, beside the snippet. AI crawlers then get a page of their own instead of being filtered out.
FAQ
Switching from Pirsch Analytics.
What people ask before they switch.
Can Spreelytics track from my server like Pirsch?
Partly. Our page views and sessions come from the browser snippet. Custom events can be sent from your server, and the crawler middleware runs there too.
If you need page views with no JavaScript at all, Pirsch is the better fit for that part.
Does Spreelytics need a cookie?
By default we set one first-party cookie, so a returning visitor keeps one identity. You can switch a project to cookieless, and then nothing is stored in the browser.
In cookieless mode an anonymous visitor gets a new id each day, much like at Pirsch. Retention then counts identified people only.
Is there an official MCP server?
Yes. MCP is an open standard that lets AI apps such as Claude connect to a service. Ours is official and hosted, and one account key covers every project in your account. Your AI app can read your numbers and change what your role allows.
The Pirsch MCP server in their docs is a community project. Their docs say it is read-only and that Pirsch does not support it.
