See where they fall out.

Find out which step is losing people. Name the steps once and the drop-off between each is there every time you look.

What it does

Funnels you define.

A funnel you define yourself, re-run live against whatever slice you are asking about.

Steps you name

Any mix of pages and events, in the order you care about. Create, reorder and delete them yourself.

  • Pages and custom events as steps
  • Reorder without rebuilding
  • Full create, edit and delete

Drop-off at every stage

How many reached each step, what share of the previous one that is, and the end-to-end rate.

  • Per-step counts and percentages
  • Drop-off between each pair
  • Overall conversion rate

For any slice

Run a funnel for mobile, one campaign or last week, and compare.

  • Filter by device, source, campaign or segment
  • Any date range
  • The same filter bar as other pages

How it works

Use it in three steps.

  1. 01

    List the steps

Landing, pricing, signup, paid, or your own version.

  2. 02

    Read the drop

The biggest percentage fall is the step to go and look at.

  3. 03

    Segment it

Run the same funnel for mobile or for one channel, and see if the drop affects everyone.

FAQ

Questions about this one.

What people ask before they switch it on.

Do steps have to happen in one session?

No. Funnels follow the person, so a path that spans a return visit still completes. It must finish inside the completion window, 7 days by default and up to a year.

Can I change the steps later?

Yes, including reordering them. The funnel recomputes from the data you already have.

What if people take a different path?

A funnel measures the path you asked about. To see the paths people take, including ones you did not plan, use Journeys. The two are meant to be read together.

Is there a limit on steps?

Eight. Past that a funnel stops being readable, and the question usually splits better into two funnels.
