Spreelytics·Legal
Cookie Policy
This page lists the cookies and similar browser storage that Spreelytics uses on spreelytics.com and in the app at app.spreelytics.com. It explains what each one does, how long it lasts and how to change your choice. For how we handle personal data in general, see our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser. Websites can also save information in your browser's local storage and session storage, which work in a similar way. On this page, "cookies" covers all of them.
When we ask
If you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the cookie banner asks you first, and we set analytics cookies only after you click Accept. Until you accept, and if you click Reject, we still count your visits to spreelytics.com, but without cookies: nothing is saved in your browser. To tell visits apart we use a code made from your IP address and browser details. The code changes every day, and these visits are not linked to an account.
Everywhere else, the banner tells you that we use analytics cookies, and we set them from your first visit. You can turn them off at any time, as described below.
The app never shows the banner. Until you have answered it on spreelytics.com, and if you clicked Reject, the app counts your visits the same way, without cookies. Once you sign in, those visits are linked to your account.
The cookies we need to run the website and the app, such as the ones that keep you signed in, do not need your consent. Your choice applies to both spreelytics.com and the app.
Our record of your choice
When you click Accept or Reject, we keep a record of it, so we can show that you were asked and what you chose. The record holds a random ID that is also saved in your spreelytics_consent cookie, your choice, the date and time, the page you were on and the type of browser you used. It does not include your IP address or where you are. If you change your choice later, we add a new record and keep the earlier ones. We delete each record 12 months after it was made.
Cookies we need
These keep the website and the app working. They are set whatever you choose in the banner.
| Name | Where | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
spreelytics_consent | Website and app | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, and holds the ID of our record of your choice | 6 months |
idToken | App | Shows that you are signed in | 1 hour |
accessToken and refreshToken | App | Keep you signed in by renewing your session | Until you sign out, or 10 years at most |
c_session and is_auth | App | Tell the app that you are signed in | Until you sign out, or 10 years at most |
Analytics cookies
In the European Union, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, these are set only if you accept them. Everywhere else they are set from your first visit. We measure visits with Spreelytics, our own analytics product. We do not use Google Analytics, and we do not use advertising cookies.
| Name | Type | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
spreelytics_vid | Cookie | Recognises your browser when you come back. If you sign up, your earlier visits are linked to your account. | 1 year after your last visit |
spreelytics_visitor | Local storage | Records when you first visited | Until you clear it |
spreelytics_session_data | Session storage | Keeps track of your current visit | Until you close the tab |
When analytics starts, it saves a test cookie called __sf_cookie_probe to check which domain it can use, and removes it straight away.
Older versions of our analytics used names that start with spreeflo_, such as spreeflo_vid. If you have not accepted analytics cookies, we remove those as well.
Settings saved in your browser
The website and the app also save a few things in your browser so they work the way you left them. They are part of the service you asked for, so they do not need your consent.
| What | Where | Type | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| A copy of the docs, blog and legal pages you open, so they load faster. It holds nothing about you. | Website | Local storage | Until you clear it |
| Light or dark theme | App | Local storage | Until you clear it |
| The workspace and audience you last opened | App | Local storage | Until you sign out |
| Your sign-in token | App | Local storage | Until you sign out |
| The AI chat you last had open | App | Local storage | Until you clear it |
| Panel sizes and notices you closed | App | Local storage | Until you clear it |
| Whether you are viewing the demo or a shared dashboard | App | Session storage | Until you close the tab |
| The plan you are changing from during checkout | App | Session storage | Until you close the tab |
Other companies' cookies
Some features take you to another company's website, which sets its own cookies under its own policy:
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Stripe, when you pay for a plan or manage your billing.
How to change your choice
- Click Manage cookies at the bottom of any page on spreelytics.com to accept or reject analytics cookies at any time.
- If you reject them after accepting, we remove our analytics cookies and storage from your browser. The app does this the next time you open it. We then count your visits to spreelytics.com without cookies, as described in "When we ask", and the app stops tracking you.
- You can also delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you delete
spreelytics_consent, the banner appears again.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the cookies we use change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
