Compare·Rybbit
It tracks a lot, but not your revenue.
Rybbit is open source and covers far more than traffic, with session replay and error tracking built in. It has no revenue report, though, so it cannot tell you which channel brought in the money.

Where Rybbit wins.
If one of these is a must-have for you, go with them.
Open source and self-hostable
Rybbit is AGPL-licensed, and the whole product runs on your own server with Docker. We are a hosted product and closed source. If you need to own the stack, we are not an option.
Replay you can host yourself
Rybbit records sessions on its Pro plan, and in the self-hosted version. Our replay needs the Growth plan, runs only on our cloud, and records only visitors tracked with our cookie.
Errors and page speed
It catches JavaScript errors and links them to the sessions they hit. It also records Core Web Vitals, Google’s page speed scores, from real visits. We track neither, so you would need a second tool for that work.
Where Spreelytics wins.
Every line here is a page in the product today.
Revenue, traced to the channel
Connect Stripe, Paddle, Polar or Lemon Squeezy and each sale is traced to the channel that earned it, by last-touch or linear attribution. Rybbit’s own ecommerce page says it has no revenue report. Order values there live in custom events.
Free without running a server
Our Free plan gives you 100k events a month, forever, and we run it for you. Rybbit is free only when you host it yourself. Its cloud starts with a 7-day trial and then needs a paid plan.
AI crawlers with less setup
Both of us name AI crawlers and sort them by what they do. Most crawlers never run JavaScript, so a page script misses them. Rybbit’s docs ask you to forward those requests to its API from your own server. We give you a ready-made package that takes one line in your server, and it also runs at the edge in front of a static site.
An assistant in the app
Rybbit runs no AI model of its own. You ask questions through your own AI app, over MCP, the standard way AI apps connect to your data. We have an MCP server too, and our app also has an assistant that turns a plain-English question into a saved report. The assistant comes with the Growth plan.
Side by side.
We leave prices out because Rybbit can change theirs at any time. Ours are on the pricing page.

Moving over.
Every one of these starts by leaving Rybbit running.
01
Keep Rybbit running
It holds your history and your replays. Leave it up while new data collects here.
02
Add the snippet
Paste one script tag into your page head. Pageviews and sessions start arriving on the next request.
03
Rebuild your goals and funnels
A Rybbit goal becomes a goal here, based on a page or an event. A funnel is goals in order, up to eight steps.
04
Connect your payments
Connect your payment provider in Settings, and pass our visitor id at checkout. Revenue then shows up in your channel reports.
FAQ
Switching from Rybbit.
What people ask before they switch.
Rybbit sets no cookies. Does Spreelytics?
By default, yes. We set one first-party cookie that lasts a year, so a returning visitor is recognised. That cookie is what lets retention and person timelines cover people who never sign in.
Any project can switch to cookieless mode, and then we store nothing in the browser at all and record no replays. Rybbit is cookieless on every site, so there is no switch to forget.
Can Spreelytics replay sessions or track errors?
Replay, yes, on the Growth plan: a recorded visit plays back with its page views, events, clicks and rage clicks listed beside it. Errors and page speed, no. Rybbit tracks both, so if you use it for debugging every week, keep it for that job.
Can I run both?
Yes. Both scripts can run on the same page. One sensible split is Rybbit for errors and page speed, and Spreelytics for revenue by channel and crawler traffic.
