Compare·Heap
It records every click, but your history has a limit.
Heap records every click and page view on its own, so an event you define today already has its past. But it shows less of that past than you might expect, with six months on Free and a year as standard on paid plans.
What Heap is
Product analytics that records every click and page view on its own, now part of Contentsquare.

- Their cloud, with a choice of region on Premier
- Best at
- Answering a question about something nobody set up tracking for, because every interaction was recorded from the start.
Where Heap wins.
If one of these is a must-have for you, go with them.
Every click, recorded from day one
One snippet records every click and page view with no tracking plan. You can name an event later, and its earlier data is already there. Our snippet collects pageviews and sessions on its own. Any other event needs one line of code, and its history starts that day.
Heatmaps as well as replay
Both are add-ons on the Pro and Premier plans, and they sit next to the charts. Our replay comes with the Growth plan, but we draw no heatmaps of any kind.
More ways to share credit
Its influence chart has five ways to share credit for a sale between touches. One gives recent touches more weight, and another lets you set your own split. A touch can be any event, such as an email open. Ours is last-touch or linear, counted over visits.
Native mobile apps
Heap has SDKs for iOS and Android apps, and for React Native and Flutter. Our tracking is built for the web.
Where Spreelytics wins.
Every line here is a page in the product today.
More history on every plan
Heap shows six months of data on Free and a year on Growth. Pro and Premier can buy more, up to three years. Ours keeps 13 months on Free and five years on Growth.
AI crawlers, counted
AI crawlers fetch your HTML and almost never run JavaScript, so a page script never sees them. We count them on your server, sorted by what they do with your pages. Heap drops known bots by their user agent and has no crawler report.
An MCP server that builds
Heap MCP lets an AI app such as Claude query Heap. It is in early access through your success manager, and it is read-only. It runs counts and funnels over preset date ranges. Ours is on every plan, Free included. Your agent can also build reports within your role.
Side by side.
We leave prices out because Heap can change theirs at any time. Ours are on the pricing page.

Moving over.
Every one of these starts by leaving Heap running.
01
Keep Heap running
Leave it capturing while new data collects here. Its history stays in Heap for as long as your plan shows it.
02
Add the snippet
One script tag. Pageviews and sessions start arriving on the next request.
03
Send the events you rely on
In Heap you defined events after the fact. Here you send the few your funnels need, one call each, where they happen.
04
Connect your payments
Connect your payment provider, and each sale is credited to the visits that led to it.
FAQ
Switching from Heap.
What people ask before they switch.
Does Spreelytics capture every click like Heap?
No. Our snippet collects pageviews and sessions on its own, and referrers and campaigns come with them. Outbound link clicks are one option in the snippet. Any other event is one call in your code.
So you choose your events up front. If your team often has questions nobody planned for, Heap’s approach is a real advantage.
Heap is part of Contentsquare now. What does that change?
Heap still sells its own plans at heap.io, from Free to Premier. Contentsquare says existing Heap accounts keep working as usual.
Contentsquare has also built Heap’s features into its own Product Analytics. A new buyer may be offered either name.
Does Spreelytics have session replay or heatmaps?
Session replay, yes, on our Growth plan, which includes one replay a month for every 10 events in the plan: 25,000 at 250k events. Heatmaps, no. Heap sells both as add-ons on its Pro and Premier plans.
