Compare·Swetrix

It does a lot, but it cannot show who stays.

Swetrix is open source and cookieless, and it goes past traffic counts with error tracking and A/B tests. It has no retention report, and its anonymous visitor IDs reset every month, so it says little about who stays.

What Swetrix is

An open-source, cookieless web analytics tool that also tracks errors and runs experiments.

Where Swetrix wins.

If one of these is a must-have for you, go with them.

Open source, free to self-host

Swetrix Community Edition is AGPL-licensed and free to run on your own server. We are hosted only and closed source, so that option does not exist here.

Experiments as well as replay

On the Plus plan, Swetrix adds session replay. The same plan runs feature flags and A/B tests beside your analytics. We replay sessions on our Growth plan, but we run no flags or experiments.

Errors and speed in one place

Swetrix tracks JavaScript errors and page load times next to your traffic. We track neither, so you would keep a separate tool for them.

Where Spreelytics wins.

Every line here is a page in the product today.

People over time

Swetrix has no retention report, and its anonymous visitor IDs reset every month. We show weekly retention, and you can run it for any segment. By default one first-party cookie keeps a visitor’s identity for a year, so retention also covers people who never sign in.

Attribution you choose

Swetrix links each payment to a visitor or a session, and you can filter revenue by source. It offers no attribution model to pick. We let you choose last-touch or linear, over a lookback window from 1 to 90 days. Polar and Lemon Squeezy connect directly here too, where Swetrix takes them through its API.

AI crawlers, by name

Swetrix blocks bots and shows how many it blocked, and why. It keeps no names. We count AI crawlers on your server and show each one by name, sorted by what it does with your pages.

An official MCP server

MCP is the standard way AI apps connect to your data. Swetrix has no MCP server of its own. A community project fills the gap, and you run it yourself. Ours is official and hosted, and it can build reports and dashboards when your role allows.

Side by side.

We leave prices out because Swetrix can change theirs at any time. Ours are on the pricing page.

Moving over.

Every one of these starts by leaving Swetrix running.

01

Keep Swetrix running

It holds your history and any experiments still running. Leave it up while new data collects here.

02

Add our script next to theirs

Both scripts can run on the same page. Our overview is ready the moment data arrives.

03

Move your revenue source

Connect the same Stripe or Paddle account here, and pass our visitor id at checkout. Then choose last-touch or linear credit.

04

Open a retention grid

After a few weeks, read retention for one segment. Swetrix has no report like it.

FAQ

Switching from Swetrix.

What people ask before they switch.

Swetrix runs A/B tests. Do you?

No. We do not run feature flags or experiments, though we do replay sessions on the Growth plan. If you rely on flags and tests every week, Swetrix covers them and we do not. Plenty of teams run a flag tool beside their analytics on purpose.

Is Spreelytics cookieless like Swetrix?

Not by default. We set one first-party cookie, because it lets us recognise a visitor who comes back next month. Swetrix never sets a cookie or writes to local storage.

Any project can switch to cookieless mode, and then we store nothing in the browser either. An anonymous visitor then counts as new each day, and no replays are recorded.

Both of you filter bots. What is different?

Both of us keep bots and datacenter traffic out of your visitor numbers. The difference is what you see afterwards. Swetrix shows a count of blocked requests by reason. We show each AI crawler by name on its own page, counted on your server.
