Compare·Burst Statistics
Plenty of reports, all inside WordPress.
Burst Statistics has grown into one of the fullest analytics plugins for WordPress, with store reports and Search Console data kept in your own database. It does not show one visitor’s history, though, so there are no person timelines, and its retention covers subscribers only.
What Burst Statistics is
A WordPress analytics plugin from the team behind UpdraftPlus that stores every statistic in your own WordPress database.
- Licence
- Open source (GPL-2.0), with paid Pro plans

- Inside your WordPress site and database
- Best at
- Giving a WordPress site a broad, clear dashboard with store and campaign reports, without sending data to an outside service.
Where Burst Statistics wins.
If one of these is a must-have for you, go with them.
Data that stays on your server
Every statistic is stored in your own WordPress database. Nothing goes out unless you turn on an optional link, such as Search Console. We are hosted only.
WooCommerce reports in the plugin
Its Business plan adds a WooCommerce sales dashboard with a sales funnel, and sales are tied to the traffic sources behind them. There is a subscriptions view too, with churn and monthly cohorts. Our revenue comes from Stripe, Paddle, Polar or Lemon Squeezy, not from WooCommerce.
Campaign A/B tests
Name two campaign links as variants of one test, and Burst reports the winner with a significance check. We have no A/B testing of any kind.
Free with no traffic limit
The free plugin has no tracking limit. Our Free plan covers 100k events a month.
Where Spreelytics wins.
Every line here is a page in the product today.
One timeline per person
Burst counts visitors and sessions, but it does not show you one visitor’s history. We give each person one timeline of sessions and events. Identifying someone joins their earlier history across devices, except on cookieless projects.
Funnels for any steps
Burst’s funnel is its WooCommerce sales funnel, on the Business plan. Ours takes any pages and events as steps, up to eight, on Free.
Retention for every segment
Burst’s cohorts cover subscriptions. Our retention works for any segment you save, from anonymous visitors to paying customers.
Nothing to prune
Burst’s tables live in your database, and keeping them lean uses the archiving settings on its paid plans. We are hosted, so your WordPress database and your backups stay the size they are.
Side by side.
We leave prices out because Burst Statistics can change theirs at any time. Ours are on the pricing page.

Moving over.
Every one of these starts by leaving Burst Statistics running.
01
Keep Burst running
Its history is in your database. Leave it on while new data collects here, and compare a full week against a full week.
02
Paste the snippet
Put it in your theme’s header, or use any plugin that adds code to the page head.
03
Rebuild your goals
A Burst goal on a page view becomes a page goal here. A click goal becomes an event you send, one call each.
04
Connect Search Console
If you read Burst’s Search Console view, connect the same property here. The last 90 days come in first, then it refreshes every day.
FAQ
Switching from Burst Statistics.
What people ask before they switch.
What happens to my data if I leave WordPress?
Your Spreelytics history stays where it is. The same snippet works on any site, WordPress or not.
Burst’s data sits in your WordPress database, so it stays with the old site unless you export it.
Does Spreelytics have A/B testing like Burst?
No. There is no A/B testing of any kind here, and no feature flags. Burst’s campaign tests compare two links you create, and they are a fair reason to keep it if you use them.
Burst has an AI assistant. How is yours different?
Burst’s chat runs on an AI provider you set up in WordPress, and its abilities only read your data. Our in-app assistant builds the report you describe, on the Growth plan.
Our MCP server works on every plan, including Free. Your agent reads the numbers the dashboard shows, and it can build reports and goals within your role.
